A respectful approach that considers the deeply human side of family law
I take a practical and realistic approach to resolving legal issues for my clients while minimizing lengthy and expensive court processes.
My own experience as a co-parent has informed my perspective on the value of building a positive working relationship with one’s parenting partner. I am deeply committed to helping parents resolve conflict through collaborative practices that protect the integrity of the lifelong co-parenting relationship.
My focus on healthy parenting relationships extends to my work with intended parents, surrogates, and sperm and egg donors and includes preparing surrogacy and donorship agreements, obtaining a declaration of parentage from the court, and navigating the adoption process.
I have co-taught Clinical Family Law at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law. I sit on the steering committee of Collaborative Practice Manitoba and am the co-chair of its Technology Committee.
Serving those who have challenges accessing justice is a priority for me. I have been a volunteer at A Woman’s Place Legal Help Centre, Legal Aid Manitoba, Pro Bono Students Canada, and Siloam Mission.
